I thought I was well on my way to understanding the D-Jetronic fuel injection system on my 1800 until I came across this website. I’m on the tip on the iceberg.

Two weekends under the hood
I am getting closer to having a running 1800 ES. It turns over quite easily, but still doesn’t catch. The cold start valve is not firing. The coolant temperature sensor is bad (a new one is on the way), but its the thermal time switch that triggers the cold start valve on the 1973 model. Perhaps the wiring between the ignition and thermal switch is at fault?
